Commune, a Los Angeles-based design firm creates spaces that I keep coming back to. This one in particular, the Marin Compound, is one I have returned to time and again over the past year. Whenever I imagine dreaming up a vacation home, or a vacation-like primary home this is the project that gets my wheels turning in the best way. I love the multi-disciplinary aspect of this firm. They specialize in architecture, interior, graphic, and product design which resonates deeply with my passion and why I started this blog, to explore design across mediums. As time passes, I find myself uncovering more of what lights me up, and what keeps coming up is this theme that design, broadly speaking, is at the heart of what I am drawn to. Interiors, fashion, set design and styling, art direction, and real estate investing, all serve as a canvas for creative expression.

Marin Compound, the featured project below, so beautifully blends together warm, rustic, historic elements with contemporary finishes, creating a space imbued with retreat-style luxury. This mixing together of old and new is a recurring theme on my blog, and always something my eye is drawn to.
